Am I Normal?: Programme description

Am I Normal?

Mon 28 Apr, 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm 60mins

Spirituality.

Reports suggest fewer people in Britain today follow a religion than ever before. Yet most of us still cling to the idea of life after death, spirits and the supernatural. Why do we judge some as true believers and others as religious nuts? And what happens when the worlds of hard scientific fact and pure faith collide? Clinical psychologist Dr Tanya Byron explores what some consider as the fine line between religious devotion and psychiatric disorder. She sees what happens when rational scientists try to analyse religious phenomena like Speaking in Tongues and Hearing Voices, and considers the beliefs of faith healers who claim miracles happen.

Having been involved with Healing and complementary therapies and mediumship for 30 years, I was really pleased to see that this programme was beginning to put forward the possibility that there might be some truth to what 'we' know and totally believe in. We have all the proof we need, as we can see the results of our experiences and the power of the mind and the creative energy which we work with. We dont actually need anyone to either confirm or dismiss our experiences and our truth, however it might be very helpful to so many people who would otherwise be too frightened to take a step into this wonderful world of different dimensions if it were accepted that this is a possibility. Glad I found this site I have a friend in S. Africa/ Durban who is having problems with 'Hearing voices' and not very nice ones either. Is there a group or someone to whom I could refer her for some help. Obviously she would rather not be on the conventional drugs suggested for this condition, but does not know how to go about getting help in S. Africa. Can anyone in your organisation help please.

I watched it online after broadcasting and I thought this programme came across pretty well. It was accessible, didn't assume too much of the viewing public and gave clear explanations of spirit release work, it worked for me
