And The Wind Cries Mary (Jimi Hendrix)

The song is said to have been inspired when Hendrix and his then girlfriend had an argument; after she stormed out of their apartment.

Excerpt from song:

After all the jacks are in their boxes
And the clowns have all gone to bed
You can hear happiness staggering on down the street
Footsteps dressed in red
And the wind whispers mary
A broom is drearily sweeping
Up the broken pieces of yesterdays life
Somewhere a queen is weeping
Somewhere a king has no wife
And the wind, it cries mary

The littlest Hobo theme song starts with’ Theres a voice keeps on calling me, down the road thats where i’ll always be, every stop I make i’ll make a new friend cant stay for just turn around and i’m gone again’

I think ‘Hotel Califonia’ by Eagles also mentions voices.
