Sandra Escher Art Contest Results 2023
We at Intervoice would like to congratulate all the participants in the Sandra Escher Art Contest. This first edition of the art contest has shown us how the worldwide community of Voice Hearers has an incredible capacity to express itself. It has also taught us many lessons about how to organise this initiative even better for future editions.
Here’s an invitation and encouragement for all Voice Hearers’ initiatives (individual or collective) around the world to organise themselves to use art more often as a way of better understanding their experience and being better understood by those around them.

André Coelho, Brasil
We call ourself a person with Parts. Creative expression surrounding my experiences as a Voice Hearer and a Non Binary person were vital even before any form of professionalism. Born in Brasil in 1993 we were speaker and creator of the logo in the 2022 Intervoice World Congress. Currently exposing in local fairs and facilitating the voice hearers group “Nossas Vozes”.
Michelle Dalton, Ireland
Michelle Dalton is a Multimedia Artist from Cork City, Ireland. Born 15/02/1989. She has been creating art since a young age and practicing professionally since her early twenties.

Amanda Lannone
I have sensations all over my body and my head talks to me through twinges. I’ve heard noises and pops in my environment, sounds from a radio that was communicating with me, I can smell scents that aren’t there, and I have the impression that everything is outside of me, it depends on how I am inside, if I’m well everything is well, if I’m bad everything is bad around me.
Art has always been present in my life, I have been a sculptor since I was 12 years old, after acquiring sensations and perceptions, art helped me/saved me to express the inexpressible, only it and a few people helped me to find myself and they still do today. I hope that art will always be there to keep helping me so much.
