Intervoice is an international network with hundreds of groups in over 25 countries. It engages in study, education and research into the phenomenon of hearing voices. Together with other unusual psychic experiences, this phenomenon has been and still is largely ignored by social conventions and by most mainstream psychiatric practices and approaches.
On 6-7 November, talks and workshops will provide ideas for addressing mental suffering from the stand- point of the lives of the sufferers, in the knowledge that this phenomenon is exacerbated by the current context of social crisis and austerity. This congress will put for- ward the need to build collective strategies to address the issue and safe spaces where it can be shared.
