Marius Romme

There is deep gratitude for everything Marius Romme gave to the world: the foundational work, the initial curiosity, the courage to challenge prevailing understandings, and the legacy he leaves through the World Hearing Voices Movement. Countless lives have been changed, immeasurable hope and opportunity have been offered, and his enduring footprint will remain for generations to come.

For those who would like to pay their respects to Marius Romme, who sadly passed away this week, there is an option to join the celebration of his life via Zoom on Thursday.

Following the formal service for Marius Romme, we would like to invite members of our community from around the world to gather online in a space of connection, reflection, and remembrance.

The Board recognises that many people, including ourselves, are feeling this loss deeply. Marius touched countless lives through his work, his vision, and his commitment to understanding and supporting people who hear voices and experience other forms of human difference. We know that people across many countries and communities may be looking for a place to come together during this time.

This online gathering is being offered as an informal space to connect, share memories, reflect on Marius’s legacy, and support one another. There is no expectation or pressure to speak, share, or participate in any particular way. You are warmly welcome to join and participate as much or as little as feels right for you.

Whether you would like to listen, contribute a memory, sit quietly in the company of others, or simply be present, you are welcome.

We hope this space can offer an opportunity for collective remembrance, connection, and care as we honour Marius and the profound impact he had on so many lives.

Date: Thursday 11th June
