Connecting People and Ideas in the Hearing Voices Movement

World Hearing Voices Day Event

September 14-15, Manchester, England

Asylum Collective and their friends and supporters in the Critical Psychiatry Network and Psychology Politics Resistance will be meeting to discuss alternatives to pathological labels of ‘mental illness’.

The event, on 14-15 September, coincides with World Hearing Voices Day celebrations.

The meeting will be in the context of the  ‘normalcy 2011’ meeting at Manchester Metropolitan University, and there will be space for talks, discussions, poetry and much more. We already have some guest speakers, and we are arranging more now. Join us!

We are asking anyone involved in the mental health system – as someone who uses services, who works as a professional or who does research – to come along. Be part of a critical discussion about what steps we can take to oppose oppression of those labelled by psychiatry.

Register for the ‘normalcy 2011’ conference to be part of the Asylum event at: www.normalcy2011manchester-efbevent.eventbrite.com

If you would like to do a talk, email a title and 100 words summary to [email protected]

Intervoice was set up to support the International Hearing Voices Movement, celebrating the diversity and creativity within it. We do what we can to share information and connect people with groups, networks and resources.
